Skilling Karamoja Hiking Guides on Mount Moroto – Kara-Tunga is building a sustainable community-lead regional tourism sector through skilling with the Karamoja Tourism Academy. Together with our partners, we develop demand-based curriculum, train local trainers and local assessors aimed at increasing the accessibility and inspiring the community.
Today we are receiving hiking and trekking guides from the four key mountain ranges in Karamoja for an assessement by an international expedition leader. Based on this study, he will develop a made-to-measure training programme for a training that’s taking place next year with international recognised certification!
The Karamoja Hiking Guides Assessment In Moroto has kicked-off! We’re excited to have experiences guides of the four key mountains in Karamoja: Mt Kadam, Mt Moroto, Mt Napak and Mt Morungole. Today is dedicated to assess the knowledge and experience of the hiking guides and prepare for tomorrow’s 3-days trek to traverse Mount Moroto.
The first day of the Karamoja Hiking Guides Assessment is a wrap and the team of 10 people is ready for a 3-Day Trek traversing Mountain Moroto. The trek will touch all the peaks from 2700m to ultimate summit at 3083m!
