27th September 2022, at World Tourism Day Celebrations, Kara-Tunga Tours was recognized by the Government of Uganda Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry, Uganda for Its “Passion and Promotion of Community Tourism in Uganda”.
Kara-Tunga started from scratch to develop Karamoja into a must visit destination in Uganda. Thereby create job opportunities and preserve our culture and biodiversity.
Gratitudes to all our development partners, the government of Uganda, all travelers we have hosted, the tourism professionals who are selling the destination, the regional tourism stakeholders and the people of Karamoja.

The first group of Karamoja regional hiking guides have successfully completed the hiking guiding training by Bergwandelen.com in collaboration with Karamoja Tourism Academy. It was an eyeopening experience for both the participants and the facilitators, hiking the two highest mountain ranges (Mt Kadam and Mt Moroto) in Karamojaland.
Our partners of UKARIMU Academy invited the Karamoja Tourism Academy and other hospitality and tourism training stakeholders from around the country for an introduction workshop for the upcoming UKARIMU COVID-19 resilience training program.
