Kara-Tunga Tours and Mountain Slayers Uganda have partnered to organise the first-of-its-kind Karamoja 3 Mountains Challenge 6 Days (3 Peaks • 69 Km • 5,442 m elevation).
From November 17th to 22nd, 2023, participants will tackle three of the least-climbed peaks in Uganda: Mount Kadam, Mount Moroto, and Mount Napak. This challenge is perfect for experienced hikers who are looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure.
The mountains of Karamoja are an exciting alternative to the more strenuous climbs in East Africa with many of the same attractions, a milder climate, lower elevation, and requiring no special equipment or technical experience.
Different from other mountains in Uganda, these mountains are still inhabited by indigenous communities, which adds a unique cultural experience to the challenge.
We have come from far… tourism is positively changing the image of Karamoja and we hope that this collaboration with Uganda Tourism Board, NBS Television, NTV, UBC, can inspire tourism professionals and local communities to embrace Community Tourism in Karamoja as opportunity for inclusive development.
Get ready to celebrate culture, nature, and tradition! The eighth edition of the Karamoja Cultural Festival Event 2024 kicks off on September 2nd, 2024, in the Karenga District, bordering the award-winning Kidepo Valley National Park.
So energised after finally meeting Giorgio Andrian together with Catholic Diocese Moroto who are spearheading the designation process of Matheniko Wildlife Reserve and Mount Moroto into UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve.
