Are you still doubting to join the Tour of Karamoja – Uganda’s Warrior Nomad Trail Bicycle Challenge? No worries, join our Social Ride in Kampala on Saturday 10th September and we will convince you with the help of fellow participants, event veterans and a cold beer.
The countdown has begun and the Tour of Karamoja will be flagged-off on 23rd of October 2022. In addition to the weekly rides, organised by event partners Red Dirt Uganda and Ultimate Cycling Uganda, participants can join the official social ride to get mentally and physically ready for the event.
Participants will be able to get a taste of the event. The ride also has a big social side of-course, to enable riders to connect with previous participants, the partners, sponsors and listen to tips and tricks.
Ride details
More information about the distance and departure will be shared through the Tour of Karamoja Strava club or Facebook event.

Check out the first free bi-weekly Tour of Karamoja – Preparation ride which took place on Sunday 16th January 2022 in Uganda’s capital city Kampala. The ride was organised by Red Dirt Uganda and Bike Shop Uganda. Join the next ride on Sunday 30th January. Sign up for the Facebook event to receive regular updates.
Until recently, Karamoja was barely a blip on the map. Yet, the breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage are a hard contrast with visible signs of severe poverty and struggle, as Karamoja stands as one of the world’s most impoverished regions.
