In preparation for the the Tour of Karamoja – Easter 2022 event, we partnered with the annual Nabugabo Triathlon held on Sunday 20th February in Uganda. The triathlon is the perfect event to test your fitness and meet likeminded people and participants of previous editions of the Tour of Karamoja.
Nabugabo event
Nabugabo Triathlon is a charity event taking place at Lake Nabugabo in south-west Uganda and supports charitable causes in the country. Last year it raised money for Bikes4School campaign.
Twice a month, Nabugabo Triathlon organises a ride in Kampala to prepare participants for the triathlon in February and the Tour of Karamoja in April. The bi-weekly ride starts from Ggaba Beach and goes through the beautiful quiet and green southern outskirts of Uganda’s capital city.
Read more about the preparation rides on the the Tour of Karamoja Training page.
The Tour of Karamoja 2021 has come to an end with the last 7th day – also known as the Safari Stage – where the participants ride through the breathtaking scenery and encounter the wildlife of Uganda’s most applauded Kidepo Valley National Park.
Relive the annual bike tradition ‘Tour of Karamoja, October 2021‘. “A caravan of 21 international riders has taken the challenge to ride 500Km through Uganda’s untamed wilderness to raise awareness for Karamojaland as destination, thereby create job opportunities, foster peace and raise money to educate the girl-child for an inclusive and sustainable sector.”
