Endiro Coffee training staff Karamoja Safari Camp – Kara-Tunga has partnered with Endiro Coffee based on a shared vision: sustainable development of rural communities in Uganda.
This training took place at the Karamoja Safari Camp, tented accommodation located in Moroto town. The training was aimed at ensuring the better production of quality products and also to monitor the skills of the baristas to improve on their coffee knowledge and know more about the coffee they are using.
In this aspect ,we went through the Endiro Coffee story since they are using coffee from Endiro Coffee which helped them to get to know more about what Endiro Coffee means and what it stand for.the story helped them to get a clue on how coffee is processed. The stages in which coffee goes through to reach the final cup which ensures a quality cup of coffee at last.
Baristas were re trained on how best they can make coffee beverages on their menu through going the criteria of every coffee beverage to ensure they are well versed with it.They were taken through a key process on how to steam since it was one of their main challenge and we’re left to keep practicing to ensure that they perfect it.
We also worked on the issue of having iced drinks since they had no iced drinks and we decided to introduce a cold brew which is brewed and kept in a fridge to be cold at the time of serving and they were shown on how best they can do it.
The element of station management was talked about and also told the importance the of having a well organised station which they all agreed to keep in practice.however I must commend the Baristas on this, they keep their station clean regardless of the challenges they come across.
Since the training was a short one, the Baristas we’re left with some sources where they can get information that can better their progression and we’re encouraged to make practice of what has been taught to them so that they can perfect on what they are doing.
To ensure this, I set an exam for them which will be given to them and then this will enable to see if they have learnt something from the training.
Personally, I had a very adventurous and good experience at the place and also the kind and well disciplined staff which make you feel at home.
The conducive environment enabled me to have a very productive time with the Baristas.
