It was a pleasure hosting the writer Jacob Wananda of The Elgon Trail Tourism Promotion Book in Moroto and gave him a taste of our culture and breathtaking landscapes on the motorbike!
“Set in a mountainous region, Moroto has an exciting cultural heritage, dramatic cliffs and several historical landmarks. Today i started off with a boda boda drive to the Uganda-Kenya border to enjoy panoramic views of the Turkana-Karamojong valley, then embarked on a strikingly temperate artisanal gold mining tour.
Later checked out the cattle kraal and watched them head to the grazing grounds happily. The Karamojong community tour was a marvel – a mix of the famous electric cultural performance and display of their way of life. Wait, there’s more – escape on a biking trail or nature walk with Kara-Tunga Tours.”

We’re looking back at a 18 Days Roadtrip through Uganda with our friends ‘Marcel (Lomuria) & Vera (Natuk)’ from The Netherlands. We had the pleasure to host their first time in Africa with special attention to Karamoja.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Tour of Karamoja 2023. It was an experience to treasure! I love it, but much more so after I had finished the Southern Circuit. It was tough. I really like the tour for the following reasons:
Africa Without Borders – With pride, we present a colourful nine-spread feature of our cross-border Warrior Nomad Trail in the Dutch Columbus Travel Magazine.
