Immersed in this land of warrior nomads at the Tour of Karamoja – The past more than 40 days have been of little or no rest, and still counting… Despite the unprecedented times, the last 7 days found Brian O O Jonathan and I covering the incredible Tour of Karamoja – Bike Event 2020 ? courtesy of team Kara-Tunga, Karamoja Tours & Arts.
Big shout out to the courageous team with which we traversed this, “Uganda’s Best Kept Secret”. There was a team from Ultimate Cycling Uganda that rode from Kampala to Kidepo; crazy guys ?. It was great to have Amos Wekesa with us on some of the days. We thought we knew this region too well, but the past week sent us deeper as we were immersed even more in this land of warrior nomads.
Looking forward to sharing some of the goodness we were able to capture in the remote mountains and valleys of Karamoja. Many thanks to the team leader, Theo Vos for believing in us. Alakara noi!
Karamoja was a travel experience of a life time. We visited the karamoja communities, the welcoming dances made me feel at home, the rich karamoja cultural experience so amazing. Thanks to the Karatunga team for the organisation, the guides where so professional and were very informed about the region’s history. Accommodation at Karamoja Safari Camp …
The direction, teachers and parents of Acorns International School Kampala sent their children on an unforgettable cultural exchange and outdoor adventure to Karamoja.
One year ago, Robin and Simon were one of our first guest that traveled to the remote northeast to Discover Karamoja with us. A few months ago we received the joyful news that Robin decided to visit us again and bring her father and his partner as well… even though they only had 2 days in total.
