Kara-Tunga is the perfect base if you want to explore the region of Karamoja! I stayed there 5 days to collect info for my reportage and I found: very kind hospitality by Cristine at the reception, very skilled guides such as Daniel and Timothy, very comfortable accommodation and great cuisine with also very gentle waiters. I recommend this place to everyone! – Filos Ganga (August 29, 2023)
“Daniel took us to a traditional Karamoja village. As a Karamojong himself, he shared his own childhood experiences. With pride, he showed us how they live. We were a bit scared at the start. Daniel eased us and we really enjoyed such an encounter with this way of life.” – Petra Pasman (October 5, 2023)
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Tour of Karamoja 2023. It was an experience to treasure! I love it, but much more so after I had finished the Southern Circuit. It was tough. I really like the tour for the following reasons:
The French Embassy in Uganda invited stakeholders from Uganda’s tourism and agro-business sector to share thoughts on how to harness bi-lateral relationship between France and Uganda. The meeting was attended by our secretary Theo Vos and other tourism entrepreneurs and government representatives.
So energised after finally meeting Giorgio Andrian together with Catholic Diocese Moroto who are spearheading the designation process of Matheniko Wildlife Reserve and Mount Moroto into UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve.
The Annual Tour of Karamoja is a journey by bicycle that gives an opportunity to explore places off the beaten path in spectacular landscapes and communities.
