They offer a lot of tours at reasonable prices. For example, we did a hike up the mountains with a local guide, which was nice. The mountain area is different then the other mountains we saw in Uganda (more beautiful in my opinion). And the same day we went with another guide to visit the Karamojong community. It was a wonderful experience because it was still a genuine insight into how they live, and it wasn’t as touristic as the Maasai tours in Kenya where it’s full of tourists.
Our guide made this experience even more lovely with his humour, enthusiasm and knowledge about the tribes. He is also a karamojong so you know what he is saying, is genuine. We visited their homestead, and experienced their dance rituals. The day after this we did a tour with the boda boda (motorcycle) up to the Tepeth people and drove through the village roads with our guide again.
It was such a fun experience, driving the boda boda ourselves. We drove until sunset with the local people laughing because they saw a mzungu (tourist) on a boda boda. We had the perfect guide for this tour. It ended with drinking a local beer in the villages and watching the sunset!
