In my tent I am awakened by the sound of communicating black and white colobus monkeys. Last night we all heard that sound during dinner and again tonight. Yes Tim, you really do sleep in the rainforest. How cool!
Emanuel, our cook, makes Irish potatoes with omelette while Felix makes Ugandan arabica coffee for us. Our tents dry in the morning sun.
The time has come: say goodbye with a word of thanks and tip for all porters, cook and guides. After Maaike I thank everyone for this unforgettable experience and treat everyone to stroopwafels. They visibly enjoy it! Then comes the group photo.
Then comes the descent. Steep at the beginning, then flatter and denser and finally we walk between the fields of potatoes, maize, white cabbage, onions and mango trees to the village of Nakapiripirit where our trek started. Wow, what an adventure, unforgettable…
