Together with my friendliest and happiest tent mate ever, Anja is her name, I wake up from the smoke (air) from the dining tent / hut. The breakfast consisting of omelette, wraps, bread with banana & sugar and porridge tastes very good. Thank you Robert! ?
We follow Sipi-Trail and rise from three thousand meters, via mountain ridges and riverbeds, to an altitude of 3,900 meters. There we reach the caldera ridge of the extinct volcano Mount Elgon. A breathtakingly beautiful and wide area.
Tomorrow we climb via the caldera ridge to the Wagagai mountain peak (4,321 meters). Now we descend into a new valley up to Mude Cave Camp at 3,500 meters. The atmosphere along the way is great, relaxed and I feel jitters in my stomach for the top day tomorrow.
At Mude Camp we set up our three tents. Then, something that is right up my alley, the campfire is lit! Through the Lake Louise method we discuss everyone’s mental and physical situation. We drink tea by the fire and eat our fill. The moon provides a lot of light and makes me have to pinch my arm to make sure I’m not dreaming…

Watch another great video from our guests of Szívemben Született Afrika who travelled with us for one week in the Karamoja region. The first days were spent in Moroto at Kara-Tunga Safari Camp to experience the diverse cultures and landscapes of the region.
Ever since I have travelled to Uganda I’ve visited many places already. But Karamoja is different, in a good way, from all the places I’ve been to. A region rich of beautiful nature, beautiful people and a lot of cattle and goats.
