We are excited to announce a new educational partnership with Dutch Noorderpoort College to strengthen our capacity in Karamoja regional tourism development through skilling.
Therefore we launched The Karamoja Tourism Academy in 2018. Up to now we happily graduated 45 students in basics in hospitality tour guiding. Today we are proudly announcing a long-term partnership with Noorderpoort College from The Netherlands. They are one of the most respected colleges in the country, offering secondary technical and vocational education including tourism and hospitality.
Together we will develop and test tourism and hospitality-related courses to equip the local community with the skills to benefit from the increasing regional tourism sector.
Practical Assessment Karamoja Hiking Guides on Mount Moroto – We have concluded a fantastic week of assessing Karamoja’s Hiking Guides along the Warrior Nomad Trail for a future made-to-measure training programme that will be piloted with this group next year.
Sensitising Karamoja Communities on Tourism – Kara-Tunga aims at making Karamoja a must visit destination with people at its centre. It therefore embarked on a journey through the region to sensitise 17 community tourism groups (600 members) along Karamoja’s Warrior Nomad Trail.
