Wonderful Birds Karamoja Northeastern Uganda – One of the treasures of Uganda’s Northeastern Karamojaland is the unique Birdlife sighted from the wetlands system in the South and West, the lush forests around the mountain ranges and the thorny acacia thickets and Savannah grasslands on the undulating plains in between.
During the last days, we had the pleasure to host Mamaland Safaris and their guide Tony Byarugaba with guest David. They explored the areas from Mount Moroto up to the thorny thickets of Matheniko Wildlife Reserve with great sightings.
With effect (October 4, 2021), South Sudan and Uganda have agreed to exempt their citizens from visa requirements when travelling to either country. Both governments have waived visa entries for nationals from either country holding valid passport.
The potential of tourism in Uganda is enormous. The ‘Pearl of Africa’ is famous for its gorilla’s and chimpanzees, but has much more to offer. The active tourist can go hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking. The cultural tourist will be amazed by the numerous local traditions, customs, arts & crafts.
On our journey to develop Uganda’s new tourist product Warrior Nomad Trail, we asked for input and buy-in from national stakeholders during a workshop in Kampala.
