Uganda Wilderness Bicycle Challenge

The Tour of Karamoja is Uganda’s ultimate wilderness bike tradition taking place in northeastern Karamojaland. The tour aims at tourism for sustainable development and fundraising for girl child education.

The journey starts on the lower savannah plains in Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve and curls through the woodlands in West Pokot onto the rolling hills of the East African Rift down into the award-winning Kidepo Valley National Park

The 700 Km route with a 5,000 m elevation is divided into 8 unique stages of mixed length and difficulty. The trail is a mix of rocky cattle paths, loose and hard-packed gravel and single tracks. The final 9th day of the event is an awarding cycling safari through the national park.

Booking window

The best season for the private tour is in the dry season which starts from September until March. Find below the booking and payment deadlines:
