Duties and responsibilities
As Chef, you would be responsible to provide the highest food quality, consistent with cost control and profitability margins to maximize guest satisfaction. Ensures that safety, hygiene and sanitation practices are followed. Additionally, you will be responsible to develop menu’s, maintain updated and accurate recipes and costings of all dishes prepared. Ensures that all work is carried out in line with the hotel’s guidelines, the departmental operational plan, corporate guidelines, and service concepts.
Oversee all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect the lodge’s commitment to excellence and cater to a diverse range of international tastes.
Manage, train, and inspire a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences consistently.
Collaborate with the management team to enhance the overall guest experience, contributing to the lodge’s reputation for outstanding hospitality.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a pristine kitchen environment.
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage budgets effectively.
Qualifications
Minimum diploma in culinary art required in a related field such as food production. Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene.
Proven experience in pastry, bakery but also Ugandan, international and continental cuisine.

At least 5 years of experience as a Chef Passion for creating memorable dining experiences
Ability to find creative solutions and offer recommendations
Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate Ability to manage and inspire kitchen staff

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in english
Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms
